JAMMU, Mar 25: Former National Conference (NC) MLC, Vijay Bakaya today expressed anguish and dismay over callousness of the PDP-BJP dispensation towards migrants putting up in various colonies and outside.
In a statement issued here Bakaya said the accumulated problems of migrants seem to be least concern for the administration.
Bakaya, who is also Political Advisor to National Conference president, Dr Farooq Abdullah, while interacting with functionaries of the NC Migrant Cell, said that the administration had miserably failed in mitigating grievances of a segment of employees under Prime Ministers’s package, who are made to run helter skelter in pursuit of their demands. He also referred to the lackadaisical approach of the concerned agencies in expediting the process for filling up the vacancies under the package, saying this has caused unease among the educated unemployed.
“Despite repeated pleas, the Relief Organization has not taken up the renovation of various colonies, as a result of which the camp dwellers are suffering on daily basis”, Bakaya said and called for ensuring adequate power and drinking water keeping in view the ensuing summer months.
The meeting discussed the ensuing by-polls for Srinagar and Anantnag Lok Sabha constituencies and hoped that the enthusiasm among the voters will result in massive victory of Dr Farooq Abdullah from Srinagar and Ghulam Ahmed Mir in Anantnag. The meeting was informed that the M Forms have been made available and the process of filling up these has already begun.
Bakaya and other leaders, including State vice president Rattan Lal Gupta, Chairman of the Cell Bushan Lal Bhat and President M K Yogi, sought a massive mandate for Dr Farooq Abdullah, saying his victory will herald a new era of hope and peace across the State.
Present among others in the meeting were Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Provincial Secretary, senior vice president of the Cell, Anil Dhar, Jatin Bhat, M.K Raina, Dr. Sheikh Aimena, Mrs Pinky Bhat, Bal Ji, Amit Koul, Mrs Geeta.
