Baisakhi celebrated with religious fervour

JAMMU, Apr 12: Baisakhi Festival was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety.
Baisakhi Festival was celebrated in NGM College of Education, Dhinde Kalan, Miran Sahib. Students participated in group dance and also performed bhangra on the beats of dhol. Some students read out papers related to Baisakhi, Sikhism and Swami Dayanand Sarswati, followed by skit. Principal Manish and Director BL Thusoo highlighted the importance of the festival.
Sai Montessorie Higher Secondary School celebrated Baisakhi festival. On the occasion, students performed various cultural items including bhangra, qwalis and puppet show. Teachers threw light on the importance of the day.
May Fair School, Janipur celebrated Baisakhi festival with pomp and show. The students attired in Punjabi dresses performed bhangra and sung Punjabi songs. Chairman of the school Vijay Basur and Principal Ranjeet Kour highlighted the importance of the day.
Little Champs Playway School, New Plots celebrated the Baisakhi festival wherein the students participated with full zeal and zest. Attired in traditional Punjabi and fancy dresses, the children danced and presented Bhangra to the live Dhol beats and had fun throughout the day. Principal of the school Sonal Abrol apprised the students about the relevance and importance of celebrating this day. Chairperson Capt Vinay Abrol was chief guest on the occasion.
Pahal celebrated Baisakhi Mela with the children of Bal Niketan at Kanak Mandi. Various free food stalls were installed.
