JAMMU, July 13: 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Virender Singh Bhou has rejected the bail applications of three Punjab based narco smugglers, who were nabbed with more than 32 kilograms of poppy straw.
While rejecting bail applications of Amanpreet Singh, son of Kashmir Singh, Hira Singh, son of Chhan Singh and Lovepreet Singh, son of Rajbinder Singh of Gurdaspur, 2nd Additional Sessions Judge observed, “undisputedly a huge quantity of contraband has been seized from the possession of the accused persons and the investigation is going on”.
“Grant of bail at this stage would be detrimental to the interest of prosecution and social interest as well”, the court said, adding “having regards to the nature of allegation, evidence on record and the menace of drug trafficking, which is spoiling the lives of young boys and girls, the accused doesn’t deserve bail”.
With these observations, the court rejected the bail application.
