Bail denied in attempt to murder case

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Oct 17: Sub-Judge Katra Sandeep Gandotra has rejected the bail application of an accused allegedly involved in attempt to murder case.
After hearing both the sides, Sub-Judge Katra Sandeep Gandotra observed, “perusal of CD file categorically indicates that the investigation is at nascent stage. The allegations against the accused/applicant Uttam Singh, son of Sham Singh of Katra are very serious and the injured Suman Lata who has received injuries on her head, is still struggling for her life in hospital”.
“The conduct of the accused has also to be taken in consideration because he was absconding after the occurrence and was arrested after 10 days. The court in such cases cannot pass order of blanket bail because the court cannot go beyond the statutory command of law more so when faith of general public is involved”, Sub-Judge said, adding “enlargement of accused on bail at this stage would scuttle the investigation and the accused may temper with the evidence and otherwise also the bail at this stage would not be in public interest”.
With these observations, the court rejected the bail application.
