Bail application of 2 accused in examination scam rejected

JAMMU, Mar 15:  The Court today rejected the bail application of two examination scam accused, who were  allegedly involved in managing the answer scripts a day before the scheduled exam in R S Pura and leaking out the question paper.
The bail applications of Babu Ram Sharma and Rajat Gupta were  rejected by Archana Charak, Ist Class Munsif , R S Pura after hearing arguments of counsels of the applicants  as well as Special Prosecuting Officer.
“Rajat Kumar is involved in such an illegal and heinous activity to gain an advantage in academics, selection in professional courses as well as for getting job thereby putting hardworking student community at back foot and if not checked, it would further embolden such elements present in the society,” the judge observed while rejecting the bail application of  the one accused, who had written answer script a day before the scheduled exam.
Similarly, bail application of Babu Ram Sharma was rejected with the observation that the same did not warrant any consideration in view of the seriousness of the crime and involvement of the accused in facilitating leakage of the paper as well as prior writing of answer scripts.
Pertinent to mention here that the examination scam involving leakage of class 12th question paper  was cracked on February 28 and SHO R S Pura, Inspector Surinder Khadyal is investigating the case.
