CHANDIGARH, June 14: With an objective to provide impetus to meet the manpower need of the industry and create a win-win situation for academia, students and industry,Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology (BUEST), the Baddi Barotiwala – Nalagarh Industries Association (BBNIA) and the Taleem Academy Private Limited (TAPL) today entered into a tripartite to facilitate quality employees through education and skill development.
The program of academic adoption was today launched by the BUEST, the first in the country which would provide academic as well as practical exposure to the students. The vice chancellor of BUEST, Lovi Raj Gupta, said, “the uniqueness and novelty of the program is that students will be given academic exposure on week-ends and will be working in adopted industry of BBNIA on the week-days, for which the students will also be paid stipend”. He added, “our aim is to get the students a suitable gainful employment in the adopted company itself at the completion of the course”.
Appreciating the approach, Arun Rawat, president BBNIA, stated, “There has been a persistent concern in the industry about the gap between the available talent and knowledge pool and its employability. Industry has suffered in the past and is succumbing to ‘good human resource’. We have reached a stage where we need to look at a tailor made education system and we hope endeavours like such will be able to provide rich supply pool of technical man-power”.
Mr Jaiprakash Hansrajan, CEO, TAPL, informed that students will be admitted in this program based on merit, judged on capabilities measurement test and related assessments by Taleem Academy. He said the companies which have already agreed to absorb students are Virtous Solutions, Trade India, India Mart, Aurtho Gen Technologies Lts,Clicklabs, North Star Fasteners and Him Teknoforge. He added that they are targeting companies like Electrolux and TVS to name a few, for more.
The general secretary Y S Guleria and past president Rajender Guleria were among others present on the occasion.
