Bad roads, poor monitoring killing people: Hamid

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, July 10: Expressing his grave concern over the death of nine officials of Sheep Husbandry Department in a fatal accident in Sinthan Top area of district Kishtwar People’s Democratic Party leader and party co-ordinator for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency, Abdul Hamid Choudhary today said that bad roads, poor monitoring and insensitive Government were all responsible for fatal accidents on Jammu and Kashmir roads.
Choudhary Hamid alleged that had the Government constructed safe road from Kishtwar to Sinthan Top as has been done from Kokernag to Sinthan Top there would have been less or negligible chances of passengers meeting such a fate.
‘Earlier also several people have died in fatal accidents on Jammu-Doda, Srinagar, Pahalgam, Poonch, Basohli and Bhaderwah roads but Government apart from announcing compensations and extending a mere lip service didn’t do much to improve conditions of roads and transportation system in entire State’,  he added.
