Ayushman conferred ‘Wordsmith Poetry Prize’ award

JAMMU, Oct 13: The Asian Literary Society (ALS) has conferred Journalist and Writer, Ayushman Jamwal with ‘Wordsmith Poetry Prize’ award for his poem on Triple Talaq titled as ‘Am I Not God’s Child?’ from his latest poetry collection ‘Silent Sun’.
Jamwal was also awarded the Gitesh-Biva Memorial Award-2019 for his critical essays on contemporary feminism.
The ALS Confluence in Delhi felicitated the writers, poets and publishers for their contributions to literature and culture with former MEA Secretary and renowned poet, Amarendra Khatua gracing the event as the chief guest.
Ayushman Jamwal serves as a Senior News Editor at CNN-News18 and is a columnist for leading online and print titles.

Ayushman dedicated his win to his grandfather, Group Captain Randhir Singh, Jammu’s celebrated Dogri poet better known as Kunwar Viyogi.
Ayushman serves as a Curator at Kunwar Viyogi Memorial Trust founded in the honour of Dogri poet to promote and preserve Dogri culture.
