JAMMU, Apr 23: As part of the ongoing 100-day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, an awareness programme was organized at the 15 IR Battalion headquarters today.
A statement said Commandant of the 15 IR Battalion, SSP Dushyant Sharma greeted the guest speakers and participants.
Retired Judge Subash Gupta, Advocate Anisha Kohli and DySP Harmohinder Singh addressed the gathering and highlighted the growing threat of drug abuse, stressing the need to protect youth and strengthen community participation to curb inter-border drug trafficking.
They also emphasised rehabilitation, reducing demand for drugs, promoting a healthy lifestyle and supporting affected families.
Recruit constables who recently joined the unit also spoke on awareness and the ill effects of substance abuse.
The programme was started by DySP Anita Pawar, while Inspector Pooja Parihar conducted the proceedings.
Mementos were presented to the speakers and participants by the Commandant 15 IR Battalion, and the vote of thanks was delivered by DySP Sonali Kohli.
