UNDATED,July 11: Australian shares ended marginally higher on Wednesday, gaining 0.06 percent in thin volumes, with investors remaining cautious as sluggish data from the United States and China weighed.
The benchmarket S&P/ASX 200 index edged up 0.06 percent, or 2.4 points, to finish at 4,100.4 points, recovering from an early loss of 0.5 percent after the latest measure of consumer confidence jumped in July.
New Zealand’s benchmark NZX 50 index gained 0.4 percent to 3,478.8 points.
