SAMBA, Aug 29: Association of Industries today held a meeting under the presidentship of its Chairman Mohinder Singh at SIDCO office and discussed various issues.
During the meeting, the members demanded rollback of packages of incentives to the J&K industry provided by Centre and State Government, to compete with the other neighbouring States.
They also demanded amnesty scheme in power sector to SSI units and waiving off of the service charges and interest charges to the Industrial sector.
Chairman conveyed problems to Managing Director (MD) SIDCO, who assured action regarding SIDCO related problems. MD Majumdar informed that the proposal of two more tube wells was in pipeline and assured that the water shortage problem in SIDCO Phase I will be redressed at the earliest.
Regarding power problem of feeder number 2, Chairman assured that he will take up with the matter with the officers of PDD and get it rectified to provide relief to the industrialists.
He said that the matter regarding rollback of package of incentives to the industry has been taken up with Chief Minister and Industries Minister.
During the meeting, representatives of almost 70 industries of SIDCO Phase I, Phase II, DIC Office Industrial Estate Samba area, Diani area, and other adjoining industrialists were present.
