Association highlights security issue of Accounts employees

JAMMU, May 18: J&K Accounts Employees Association, Jammu, held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president Kamal Singh Pathania for highlighting the security issue of the Accounts personnel performing their duty in various departments.
The Association drew attention towards the instance when the Accounts personnel were manhandled and even assaulted by people for their no fault. The participants listed the instances of April 9, 2019 at Jammu and May 19, 2019 at Doda when the Accounts officials were manhandled.
“On April 19, Accounts Officer Deepak Sharma, working in the office of PHE City Division-I Jammu, was manhandled by the department daily wagers, who also assaulted AAO but no action was taken against the assailants despite registration of FIR in this connection while on May 16, 2019 at District Treasury Office, Doda , Additional Treasury Officer was manhandled by the Contractor, who were threatening the official to process their bills for payment without fulfilling the codal formalities,” the Association narrated and hoped that the authorities would take appropriate action so that no such untoward incident takes place in future.
If no action is taken, the meet threatened, the Association would have no option other than to adopt agitational path and the Government will be responsible for the same.
The meeting was attended by Adarsh Sharma, Shiv Paul Singh, Sanjay Pandoh, Mehboob Chowdhary, Rakesh Sharma, Rakesh Kashyap, Brij Bhushan Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Kulbir Singh, Tejinder Paul Singh and others.
