JAMMU, June 1:  Even after more than two months since the conduct of written test for the selection of J&K Police Constables (Armed/Executive), the Police Recruitment Board is not declaring the result.
The written test was conducted on March 20, 2016 and the Recruitment Board had announced to declare the result till last week of April. However, the month of June has started and thousands of aspirants, who had appeared in the test, are still awaiting for the result.
A total of 40,339 candidates, 23573 from Jammu Zone and 16766 from Kashmir Zone, had appeared in the written test for recruitment of 4,000 Constables in Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Interestingly, written test for the posts of Personal Assistant in Intelligence Bureau, had also been  conducted on the same date, March 20, at all India level  and its result was declared by the concerned agency last month  whereas result of  the  test at State level, is still awaited.
As the written test was conducted in a very transparent manner during the Governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir, sources alleged that result of the same was being delayed because of some political pressure from the ruling coalition.
Under the supervision of DGP K Rajendra and Chairman Police Recruitment Board, Lalat Indu Mohanty, the whole process for conducting the written test was in total transparent manner and this was endorsed even by the candidates. Elaborate security arrangements, in and around the exam centres, were made through various police components. CCTV cameras were installed at all the examination centres and videography of all the centres was also made to avoid any misconduct during the examination.
Total 75 examination centres were set up, 35 in Kashmir and 40 in Jammu while 3800 invigilators had been deployed for strict the surveillance.
When contacted, Chairman of Police Recruitment Board, Mr Mohanty confirmed that the declaration of result would take some time. “A number of candidates have furnished wrong personal information in the application forms and to avoid any trouble in later stage, we are rectifying these mistakes before declaration of result, which will take some time,” he explained.
The recruitment of 4,000 constables was initiated in 2015 and the process passed through various methods, including outdoor tests after which 40,339 candidates were shortlisted for the written examination.
