RAJOURI, May 18: An Assistant Sub Inspector of police and two Constables were injured when a police party went to apprehend two accused involved in group clash over a land dispute.
Official sources said that members of two families Ishfaq and Abdul Hamid had some clash over a land dispute at Lower Gabbar village in Budhal area two days ago. Village Lamberdar and Chowkidar who tried to resolve the issue were also abused and assaulted by Ishfaq and his son Nazir. Later, they lodged a report with police. The police called accused party and others for settlement of dispute, but both Ishfaq and son did not turn up.
Today, when the police party led by ASI Abdul Rashid went to the house of Ishfaq and Nazir, they along with other family members resorted to stone pelting on the party. ASI and two others Constables Mohd Rafiq and Shabnam were injured. The other cops managed to escape. The injured were removed to hospital.
Later, police party led by SHO Budhal, Som Raj arrested both Ishfaq and his son and registered fresh case against them.
