RAJOURI, Jan 2: An Assistant Sub-Inspector and a Head Constable were injured when some youth resorted to pelting stones on them in Jawahar Nagar area here late this evening.
Reports said that incident took place when some youth beat up another youth of the locality over some petty issue. The youth was returning from tuition. He narrated the matter to his father Mohd Hanief, who later moved to the Police Station and lodged a report.
After some time, a police party led by ASI Mohan Lal arrived near Manhasan Mohalla in Jawahar Nagar area in a police vehicle. Many youth were playing in the nearby fields. The police party started inquiring about the incident from the youth assembled there.
It was darkness at that time. Some youth resorted to stone pelting on the cops and made them to flee the spot. ASI Mohan Lal and driver (HC) Harbans Lal received injuries in the attack. The police has registered a fresh FIR against the stone pelters and they are being identified. The police parties were conducting raids to nab them.
