Ashok Ambar gets Prof Ram Nath Shastri Memorial Award

JAMMU, May 9: Dogri poet Ashok Ambar has been selected for Prof Ram Nath Shastri Memorial Award-2022.
The jury members for the selection met today at Dogri Bhawan, Karan Nagar Jammu and decided unanimously that the said award be conferred to Ashok Ambar, a Dogri poet for his collection of Ghazals “Nama Savera”.
The jury comprising of Prof Lalit Magotra, Inderjeet Kesar, Rajeshwar Singh ‘Raju’ and Ajit Khajuria ( son of Padam Shri Prof Ram Nath Shastri) who scrutinized the books shortlisted by short listing penal.
It is pertinent to add here that this award is given to a Dogri writer for his first ever book published during the last five years. It was constituted in 2014 in the memory of Prof Ram Nath Shastri by his family members and Dogri Sanstha Jammu. The award carries a cash award of Rs 21,000, a shawl, a memento and a certificate. The award ceremony will be held on May 15, 2022 at Dogri Bhawan, Karan Nagar Jammu.
