JAMMU, Nov 8: Ayurvedic Society for Health Awareness (ASHA) today pressed for immediate and impartial enquiry in ISM spurious drugs scandal.
In a meeting, ASHA expressed its great anguish and concern over the media reports regarding supply of spurious ISM drugs to Government dispensaries. “Such reports have frequently been appearing in the press. Such spurious drugs, unfit for human consumption, have even been confiscated by SVO from various Ayush dispensaries”, the meeting said.
ASHA seriously feels that supply of spurious drugs through AYUSH dispensaries will shake the people’s confidence in Ayurveda, especially in rural areas.
“An impartial and speedy enquiry into the whole scam of misusing the authority for ulterior motives at the cost of lives of millions of patients needs to be carried out to pinpoint the culprits”, the members said, adding, if the culprits in the case are not booked the menace of purchase of spurious drugs would never stop and the patients would continue to suffer.
