Arya Samaj pays homage to freedom fighters

JAMMU, Oct 30: Arya Samaj, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu paid homage to all freedom fighters/Army personnel, who sacrificed their lives during freedom struggle of India or while protecting sovereignty/ integrating of the country.
The homage was paid during a programme organized to celebrate 38th Annual Ved Prachar Program. Acharya Shiv Kumar Shastri, a Vedic scholar from Saharanpur (UP) and Acharya Pradeep Shastri Bhajnopadeshak from Faridabad (Haryana), Acharya Vidhya Bhanu Shastri and Padamshri Dr Ved Kumari Ghai were invited on the occasion.
The focus of the program was to purify the air/atmosphere through Yajna (Agnihotra), which was performed by chanting Vedic Mantras and by lighting and feeding of fire offering Ahuties of ghee and a mixture of medicinal herbs (Samagri).
Occasion was also used to pray the Almighty for providing peace and prosperity not only for our State/country but for the whole world as a whole, besides praying the Almighty for safety, security and long life of our soldiers, who are performing their duties in very difficult conditions.
Acharya Shiv Kumar Shastri, while delivering his sermons, made a reference to a sacred book named ‘Satyarth Prakash’, written by Maharishi Dayanand Sarswati, the founder of Arya Samaj in the year 1875.
Two senior members, Prithvi Nath Raina and Rajmohini Kapahi, were honoured on the occasion, for their life-long distinguished services to the Arya Samaj, Trikuta Nagar. The program concluded with Rishi Langer (lunch) to all present.
