SOPORE, Oct 30: President Jammu and Kashmir Bachao Tehreek and former minister  Abdul Gani Vakil today described the screaming and passing of Autonomy resolution by National Conference in its delegate conference as political opportunism and said everybody knows that NC has again started to change its colors like a chameleon and singing Autonomy song.
Vakil said that for the lust of power NC never raised its voice or resisted humiliating rejection of Autonomy report by the NDA Government during Vajpayee’s tenure but it preferred to remain silent for the fear of losing power. Vakil was addressing first party convention of Jammu Kashmir Bachao Tehreek at Sopore today.
While addressing the gathering,  Vakil reiterated that both NC and PDP exploited, befooled and cheated innocent masses of the State  the way it suited them and both these parties forgot and drifted from their so called core ideologies for the sake of power.   Asking people  to recall exploitation at the hands of NC and PDP for cheap political gains, Vakil appealed all  not to become victim of so called Autonomy or Self Rule politics again. He said that both the parties  forget these slogans  during their rule.
Former minister also criticized  former Home Minister P. Chidambarm for his remarks and said that firstly he must justify and explain as to why he failed to deliver during Manmohan Singh’s rule and not offered the Autonomy to people of the J&K as he is speaking now. He said that now Congress after failing miserably in other States had started to ponder in Jammu and Kashmir to revive itself.
Asking Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to immediately recommend revocation of the recently issued ordinance of Governor NN Vohra on public protests Vakil said ordinance mandating law enforcement authorities to jail the organizers of public protest is tantamount to denial of democratic rights and reflects the dictatorial mindset of PDP-BJP Coalition Government.
JKBT general secretary and Ex-MLC Syed Rafiq Shah said both NC and PDP are responsible for imposing all draconian laws to suppress dissenting voices in the J&K State during their tenures. He appealed people to come forward and help J&K  Bachao Tehreek to uproot the dynasty politics of Abdullah’s and Mufti’s. Irfan Hafeez Lone and Syed Gowhar also spoke on the occasion.
