JAMMU, Jan 17: Arun Gupta has been elected as new president of the Jammu Chamber of Commerce Industry (JCCI) and Gaurav Gupta as secretary general.
The elections for the office bearers of the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held at Govt College for Women Gandhi Nagar, Jammu today under the supervision of Retired Judge, Suresh Kumar Sharma, Receiver, appointed by the Court. He was also acting as Returning Officer for the prestigious Chamber elections. Out of the total 2209 votes, 2086 were polled today.
The two times former secretary general of JCCI, Arun Gupta was elected as Chamber president. He secured 724 votes and defeated his rivals, both former presidents, YV Sharma (682 votes) and Rakesh Gupta (672 votes). Eight votes were found invalid.
Anil Gupta has been elected as senior vice president. He secured 1168 votes and defeated his lone rival, Surinder Mahajan, who managed 879 votes. Rajeev Gupta (Kaka) secured 1256 votes and was elected as junior vice president. He defeated Ashu Gupta, who grabbed 794 votes.
Gaurav Gupta has been elected as new secretary general of JCCI. He secured 602 votes and defeated his four rivals-Ajay Langar (186 votes), Deepak Aggarwal (548), Manish Gupta (418) and Bhuvneshwar Gandotra (113 votes).
Rajesh Gupta (B) has been elected as secretary. He secured 1328 votes and defeated Rajan Gupta ( 197 votes) and Ashwani Kumar (531) while Rajesh Gupta who secured 979 votes was elected as Treasurer. He defeated Manik Gupta who got 305 votes, Rakesh Jandial 255 votes, Sunil Gupta 147 and Sanjay Gupta just 98 votes.
