JAMMU, Apr 20: Parul Magotra, an accomplished theatre artist, educator and cultural ambassador, was proudly awarded at the prestigious SHE Awards UK 2026, held today at the Prince Regent Hotel, Chigwell.
Recognised in the category celebrating Professional Women in Art and Culture, Parul’s achievement marks a significant milestone in her inspiring journey from Jammu & Kashmir to London’s vibrant cultural landscape.
Representing both her heritage and her community, Parul expressed deep pride in making Jammu proud as a daughter of the culturally rich region of Jammu & Kashmir, often referred to as the Crown of India.
She dedicated this honour to her family, her father Vijay Magotra, her mother Lalita Magotra and her husband Dheeraj Gupta, whose unwavering support has been central to her success.
Hailing from Mubarak Mandi, the historic seat of Dogra heritage, Parul’s journey into the arts began at the tender age of six when she first took to the stage portraying Rani Laxmi Bai.
That defining moment ignited a lifelong passion for theatre and performance, setting her on a path of artistic excellence.
Despite coming from a non-artistic background, Parul pursued her passion with determination and faith.
Alongside her artistic journey, she achieved remarkable academic success, earning a Master’s degree in English Literature, a Master’s in Education and a Master’s in Business Management from the University of West London, reflecting both her intellectual depth and dedication.
Her artistic contributions have earned her recognition including the WAC Book of Records and the International Women Award (2021).
Now based in London, Parul serves as the Face of Asian Star Radio London, where she produces and hosts programs that celebrate diversity, culture and community voices.
Reflecting on her journey, Parul describes it not as a story of struggle, but of resilience, faith and transformation, from a small-town dreamer to an internationally recognised artist.
Her recognition at the SHE Awards 2026 stands as a testament to her dedication and serves as an inspiration for aspiring artists worldwide.
