Talking to reporters here this afternoon, Indresh Kumar said the controversial Articles were cause of terrorism, extremism, discrimination, stone pelting, illiteracy, unrest and unemployment in the erstwhile State of J&K. He added that had the Articles 370 and 35 A been so beneficial why the previous Governments failed to make it permanent. With these controversial Articles, the successive Governments deprived the people of the erstwhile Sate of their rights and the two Articles were the cause of exploitation of the people.
Indresh Kumar said if the Articles 370 and 35-A were so beneficial then why Kashmiri youth indulged in stone pelting and also took to arms. Why thousands of people lost their lives and unemployment increased in the erstwhile State,? he asked.
The RSS leader said that some leaders took the advantage of controversial articles and they misled the people on the name of so called special status while these leaders took tones of money from Centre and did nothing for actual development of the State and benefit of the people. The Article 370 was biggest hurdle in peace, development and prosperity of the erstwhile State, he added.
He said for the safety and security of the people thousands of security forces jawans laid down their lives while fighting with Pak army and terrorists and had terrorism not been there, the State would have progressed leaps and bounds. Now if the outsiders come and invest in setting up educational institutions and industry it will create opportunities for employment, he added.
Indresh Kumar said if Super Specialty Hospitals are opened in the UT, the people will get the health care facilities at their door steps and they won’t have to go outside the UT for treatment. The cost of land will increase and it will bring prosperity in families and lead to development in hilly reaches. For their own benefits the vested interests who looted the resources of J&K for decades together are trying to exploit the people again to deprive them of prosperity and progress. These elements always misled the people for their own advantage.
Taking a dig at Pakistan, Indresh Kumar said had Pak been so good it would not have committed atrocities on Muslims. He said Pakistan wants to ruin Kashmir and the people who are working as agents of Pakistan have sent their own children for higher education to foreign countries or outside Kashmir.
He said the people have now got the opportunity to build a new J&K of their dreams. Along with J&K, India should become a peaceful and strong nation so all have to come forward and work in this regard. This message should be taken to every nook and corner, he added.
Abdul Bakar Naqvi, national convener MRM and its J&K convener, Mir Nazir Ahmed were also present in the press conference. Later, Indresh Kumar held meeting with the representatives of Bharat Tibat Manch, Himalya Parivar, Sindhu Yatra, Rashtriya Sikh Sangat, Rashtriya Kavi Sangam, MRM and FINS .
Earlier, the activists raised slogans demanding China and Pakistan should vacate the parts of India which are under their forcible occupation.
