NEW DELHI: Attacking Congress over its stand on The Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, 2019, Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Tuesday termed Article 370 as a miscarriage of history.
Taking part in debate on the Bill, Dr Singh said, “Why the Congress has an objection over revocation of Article 370? We are completing the incomplete agenda.”
He said the former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had himself said that Article 370 was not permanent.
“Jawaharlal Nehru had not allowed the Home Minister Sardar Patel to deal with Jammu and Kashmir
as Nehru thought he knew Kashmir better, “ he said.
“If Nehru had not dealt with Jammu and Kashmir, Article 370 had not happened,” the Minister said.
He said Article 370 was “misused” for political benefits. He said the common man of Kashmir has moved on but some of the politicians are living in the past.
