Art of Living organizes blood donation camp

JAMMU, May 15: The Art of Living organized voluntary blood donation  camp   in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu region on the eve of birthday celebration of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shanker  at Red Cross Attendant Sarai, Jammu ,  in which about 33 devotes of the Mission donated blood.
The blood donation camp was inaugurated by Shantmanu, Chief Electoral Officer, J&K State, who was accompanied by Dr Mandeep K Bhandari, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.
While speaking on the occasion, Shantmanu appealed every individual to come forward and join this humanitarian cause by donating blood in future also. Dr Mandeep K Bhandari   appreciated the devotion and enthusiasm of the people who came forward and donated the blood without hesitation.
Vikram Gujral, Apex VVKI North of Art of Living, also threw lights on the importance of blood donation, its periodicity, effects/benefits of health of donor and above all the noble cause of saving precious lives and assured that such camps will be a regular feature of Art of Living in future also.
The team of Blood Transfusion Department, GMC, Jammu was headed by Dr Kajal, assisted by other Medical and Paramedical staff.
Besides this,  a   Medical Checkup /Dental Care Camp was also organized,  in which more than 50 patients were got examined by a team of doctors viz Dr   Ranbhusan Singh, Anaesthetist  Specialist, Dr  Kavita Nijohn of Red Cross Dispensary, Jammu,  assisted by   Kanchan Devi, Supervisor Pharmacist.  Vironica Marwah, Field officer of Red Cross rendered services   for the purpose.
On behalf of Art of Living, Shantmanu also donated two Water purifier to the IRCS, Jammu region for welfare of poor and needy.
Prominent members of Art of Living,  who were present on the occasion,  included Rajesh  Aggarwal,  Romi Aggarwal,  Anu Gujral,  Sita Ram Sharma and  Dinesh Gupta. The camp was conducted under the supervision   of R C Puri, Hony Secretary. IRCS Jammu Region.
