Around 700 pirated books seized, case registered

JAMMU, Sept 4: Nowabad police seized around 700 pirated books from Rama Book Centre, Opposite Science College, Canal Road, here.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Rajan from Modern Publishers–a subsidiary of MBD Group with Police Station Nowabad stating that pirated books are being sold by Rama Book Centre, Opposite Science College, Canal Road, Jammu.
Acting over the complaint, a team from Nowabad Police Station led by SHO Inspector Bimal Indu under the supervision of SDPO West Amit Sharma and SSP Jammu Tejinder Singh conducted raid at Rama Book Centre and seized 720 pirated books. The pirated books were of Zoology Semester 1st and 2nd.
Sources informed that the modus operandi of this book seller was to get same books with same title and content as produced by Modern Publishers from some another printer based out in Delhi.
A case under FIR Number 130/19 under Sections 65 & 66 of Copyright Act and 420 RPC with Police Station Nowabad and hunt has been launched to nab the owner of the book centre identified as Ram Lal.
