NEW DELHI: Around seven lakh candidates across the country appeared for the National Eligibility Test (NET) on Sunday.
The UGC NET examination was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for approximately 9.30 lakh registered candidates. The exam was conducted in 91 cities at 1700 exam centres.
”Approximately 409439 male, 519557 female candidates and 3 transgenders registered for the exam. More than 75 per cent candidates appeared in the exam,” the CBSE said in a statement.
The candidates appeared in three papers, paper-I of General Awareness was common for all and paper-II and III were conducted out of 84 subjects selected by the candidates. 25 minutes additional time was provided to differently-abled candidates for Paper I and Paper II while, 50 minutes additional time was provided during paper III to such candidates.
The Board had deployed 2091 observers and scores of invigilators, the statement added. (AGENCIES)
