Around 2 dozen theft cases cracked; notorious burglar, 4 goldsmiths arrested

JAMMU, Jan 22: RS Pura Police cracked around two dozen theft cases with the arrest of a notorious burglar and four goldsmiths along with 77 tolas gold worth around Rs 35 lakhs.
As per police sources, two complainants with written complaints approached Police Station RS Pura that thefts took place in their houses and thieves had stolen gold and other items when their houses were locked.
Subsequently, FIR Number 1/2022 and 3/2022 under Sections 380 and 454 IPC were registered at Police station RS Pura and investigation was set into motion.
Taking cognisance of the matter, SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli constituted a special team under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu Ramnish Gupta which was led by SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan and assisted by SHO RS Pura Inspector Jai Pal Sharma.
The team collected the minute details and after collaborating various technical and human links finally zeroed in on a person namely Parvaiz Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid Bazdar of District Kishtwar and his two accomplices namely Farooq Ahmed Rather and Mohammad Huzaif, both residents of Gandoh District Doda
Parvaiz was tracked down in Rajbagh area of Srinagar and after taking assistance from Srinagar Police, the special team led by SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan arrested him from his hideout in Aramwari area of Rajbagh Srinagar.
On the disclosures of Parvaiz, various goldsmiths from different districts of UT of J&K and Punjab namely Mohammad Yousaf Malla, son of Abdul Khaliq Malla of Bandipora, Firdous Ahmed Zargar, son of Mohammad Yousaf Zargar of Pulwama, Arif Majid, son of Abdul Majid of Pampore and Ashiq Hussain, son of Mohammad Sharief of District Doda were also arrested and stolen gold weighing around 77 tolas gold worth around Rs 35 lakhs was recovered.
It is pertinent to mention that Parvaiz is a notorious thief and his gang is already involved in more than 50 theft cases registered in many police stations in UT of J&K, Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. He has already been booked many times in Kishtwar, Doda, Reasi, Udhampur and Jammu.
Hunt is going on to arrest two accomplices of Parvaiz namely Farooq Ahmed Rather and Mohammad Huzaif as more recoveries are yet to be made.
