Army provides woolen clothes to Nari Niketan inmates

MENDHAR, Nov 9:  Continuing  with the series of welfare measures conducted by the Army for the people of Jammu & Kashmir under the project “Operation Sadbhavna”, CIF (Romeo) presented woolen clothes, school uniforms, stationery items and bags for orphan children of Nari Niketan here today.
Education of children is the prime focus of ‘Op Sadbhavna’ projects being conducted in Jammu & Kashmir.  Nari Niketan at Mendhar is imparting education to 25 orphan children of the nearby villages and providing shelter to five widows.  After screening the project and judging the viability of the same it has been observed that they are facing inconvenience due to unavailability of woolen clothes, school uniforms, stationery and bags.
At present the management of the institute is not able to provide sufficient winter clothing and stationery items for the students.  Provision of winter clothing and stationery items will help the institute to sustain and boost the morale of the orphan children.
Host of military and civil dignitaries were present during the occasion. They included Ramesh Kumar, SDM Mendhar, Abdul Aziz, Social Welfare Officer, Mendhar and Abdul Kabir, Tehsildar, Mendhar. SDM, Mendhar presented the above items to the students. Champa Devi, Supdt, Nari Niketan, Mendhar thanked the Army for their concerted efforts in providing such facilities in the remote areas of J&K.
