Army pays tributes to Sepoy Sanjay Bhat

SRINAGAR, Feb 6: The Indian Army today paid rich tributes to Sepoy Sanjay Kumar Bhat, who made the supreme sacrifice on Saturday (Feb 5) at Fruit Mandi, Parimpora (J&K).
In a solemn ceremony at Badami Bagh Cantonment, Lt Gen DP Pandey, GOC Chinar Corps led all ranks in paying homage to the gallant soldier on behalf of the proud Nation.
Late Sepoy Sanjay Bhat, while carrying out road opening operation on NH 1A near Fruit Mandi, Parimpora on Feb 5 at around 7.45 am was hit from behind by a civil truck (Registration No. JK 03J/ 3811). He was immediately evacuated to a civil hospital, Zainakut and further shifted to 92 Base Hospital. Later, he, however succumbed to his injuries.
Late Sepoy Sanjay Kumar Bhat, was 43 years old and had joined the Army in 2006. He belonged to village Mishriwala Camp of Jammu Tehsil, in J&K and is survived by his wife and two daughters.
The mortal remains of Late Sepoy Sanjay Kumar Bhat will be taken for last rites to his native place, where he would be cremated with full military honours. In this hour of grief, the Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved family and remains committed to their dignity and well being, a Defence spokesman said.
