Army pays tributes to martyrs of Indo-Pak war

POONCH, Apr 26: Bhimber Gali Brigade commemorated the supreme sacrifice made by six gallant sons of the soil, while assisting the Indian Army in the 1965 Indo-Pak war.

Annual `Amar Shahidi Diwas’ was observed at the BG Brigade with paying homage to the gallant martyrs and felicitation of martyrs’ families. Local youth presented various programmes showcasing their patriotic fervour, local culture and traditional sports.
Indian army made an endeavour appeal to local youth for adventure and fascination for Indian Army through weapon and equipment display, equestrian display and aero- modeling display. Many school children visited weapon display stalls and attained knowledge about their use and capabilities.
This event succeeded in strengthening bonds of Indian Army with the locals, brought together all sections of society and made a positive step towards driving the youth in nation building.
Later, senior Army officers had interaction with the locals of the area.
