Army organizes veterans’ rally

RAJOURI, June 11: A veterans’ rally was organized today by the Indian Army under the aegis of Tithwal Brigade at Garhi, Naushera.
162 Armed Forces veterans and their families attended the event. The event was presided over by Commander of Tithwal Brigade during which six Veer Naris and prominent veterans were honoured. Sukhdev Samyal, ADC Naushera and Girdhari Sharma, ASP Naushera also addressed the veterans.
Emphasis was also laid on Mission ‘Army 100’, a pledge taken by Army to train at least 100 local youth for Army recruitment. Various veterans’ welfare related departments such as Zila Sainik Welfare Office, Directorate of Indian Army Veterans, ECHS & CIMS participated in the event and tried to resolve the grievances of veterans at the venue itself.
In addition, a Krishi Mela was organized in which various Government departments to include Agriculture, Sericulture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Forest, Apiculture, Soil Testing Lab, Sheep Husbandry & Organic Farming had placed their stalls and educated the veterans and local farmers about the latest Government schemes of respective departments.
