JAMMU, June 11: Promoting a noble cause to help the differently abled, former Minister and MLA Jammu West Assembly segment, Sat Sharma (CA) handed over a scooty to Rash Pal, resident of Ward No. 37, in presence of Corporator of the Ward, Sunita Gupta, district president, BJP, Ayodhya Gupta, local residents and social and political activists of the area. The funds for the tri-scooter amounting to Rs 58,000 were sanctioned from former MLAs CDF.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that it is our duty to come forward and help the differently abled persons. This will give Rash Pal independent access. Sharma appreciated the efforts of Social Welfare Department and stated that there are many schemes of the Department under which differently abled persons can avail relief and benefits. He also stated that thousands of individuals residing in Jammu West have already benefitted from various schemes of social welfare including widow pension, old age pension and pension for disabled, marriage assistance scheme for girls and many more.
Corporator, Sunita Gupta on the occasion complimented the former MLA and said that the agenda of BJP is to work for the welfare of general public. She said that many residents of Ward No. 37 have benefitted from Centre sponsored schemes and these are the efforts of Prime Minister that weaker sections of the society are being empowered.
District president, Ayodhya Gupta on the occasion said that BJP is the only party which has worked for the welfare of public. He appreciated the efforts of former MLA for this noble cause.
District general secretary, Sanjeev Sharma, Rajesh Gupta, Munish Khajuria, Punet Mahajan, Onkar Singh, Anku Khajuria, Suresh Gupta, Achal Sharma, Rahul Pal, Sunil Sarmal, Amar Pal, Ravinder Sharma and many others were present on the occasion.
