Army organizes National integration tour for Mendhar children

JAMMU, July 28: The Nati-onal integration tour “Heart of India” returned back to the Jammu Kashmir after a duration of nine days.
The tour was to expose the children about the rich historical and cultural heritage of the country with specific reference to Madhya Pradesh. The tour was flagged in at Army camp at Mendhar by the Commanding Officer of the conducting unit.
The tour covered a distance of nearly four thousand kilometers by bus and train.  And as the famous saying goes that “travelling itself is learning”, the learning process started with the commencement of the journey from Mendhar.  The boys from the remote and far flung areas of Mendhar got an opportunity to visit Buddhist monuments, Sanchi Sthupa, Van Vihar National Park, Bharat Bhawan, MP State Shooting Academy, MP State Equitation Academy, Sports Stadium, DB City Mall, State Museum and Indra Gandhi Manav Sansadhan Museum in Bhopal, Daly College, Zoo, C-21 and Malhar Mall in Indore.
During the visit, the youth also had the privilege of interacting with Subedar Major and Honorary Captain Bana Singh, PVC, Director Sports Stadium, TT Nagar Bhopal and Principal Daly College.  The students visited the malls and watched a movie at multiplex cinema halls. A motivational lecture at Sports Stadium, Bhopal and screening of a motivation sports movie was organised for them.
Atiq Ali Khan of Government Higher Secondary School, Mendhar and Mohin Khan of Government High School, Mankot were very excited on culmination of the tour.  They said that the event has given an opportunity to have a glimpse of places outside their state. Mohin found it an amazing experience. Sayed Zaheer Abass of Government High School Salwah, said that it was like a dream come true for him to see the rest of the country.  Mohd Ahmed Raza, a student from Government High School, Chhatral felt that such tours bring a sense of awareness amongst the youth.
