CHANDIGARH:Indian star player Leander Paes, combing with Andre Begemann of Germany stormed into doubles semi-final as they got the better of fighting Brazilian pair of Fabricio Neis and Joao Souza 6-4, 5-7, 10-8 in quarter-final of the ? 85,000 Thindown Challenger Biella (Italy) today.
Paes-Begemann won 66 per cent total service points (46 out of 69) and saved three out of five break points. Fabricio-Joao won 45 out of 72 total service points (62 per cent) and saved five out of seven break points in the match which lasted one hour and 39 minutes.
Third seeded Paes-Begemann will now meet second seeded duo of Jamesh Cerretani (USA) and Philipp Oswald (Austria) for a final berth. (AGENCIES)
