JAMMU, Mar 16: Continuing with its efforts to ensure the security of local populace as well as their health and well being, Army today organized a medical cum veterinary camp for the Bakarwals and their live stock at village Ghiwar.
During the camp, a team of military as well as civil doctors and live stock development officers carried out health check up of Bakarwals, their families and live stock and distributed medicines to the needy.
It was heartening to note that the Bakarwals turned up in large numbers and made optimum use of this facility extended to them. A total of two medical and four veterinary doctors catered for the needs of 246 human patients and 651 animals.
GOC, Crossed Swords Division, while attending the medical camp, met the Bakarwals and sought their well being and also asked them for any other assistance which the Indian Army could provide them during the period of their stay in the AOR.
