Srinagar, Nov 18: Army, in association with Jammu and Kashmir State AIDS Control Society, today organized a blood donation camp at District Hospital in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal.
A defence spokesman said the the event was graced by State’s Health minister Choudhary Lal Singh while other dignitaries present include Deputy Commissioner of Ganderbal and Director AIDS Control Society.
“A team of army medical officers, doctors and nursing students of Ganderbal organised the event with full enthusiasm in which all ranks of Rashtriya Rifles participated and donated blood for the good cause. Around 100 people donated blood and it was helpful in educating the people about the benefits and its use in emergency conditions,” the spokesman said.
He said the community came together to participate with great enthusiasm and deepened social awareness among them. “Army has promised to extend help for organising such blood donation camps in future,” the defence spokesman added.
