Kargil, Oct 9: Apart from operational duties along the Line of Control, the Army is also committed to address the problems of the people in remote areas of Ladakh and contributing towards overall development as part of ‘Operation Sadbhavana’.
Continuing with this effort, a motivational and educational tour for the children of Kargil was flagged off by Mohd Ali Bhutto, CEO and Mohd Younus Bhatt, ASP Kargil under the aegis of “Forever in Ops Division of the Army”. The tour comprises of 25 boys and girls from Army Goodwill Schools, five teachers and one guardian. A team of Army led by an officer will be accompanying the tour from October 7 to 18.
During the tour, the children will be taken to Srinagar, Jammu, Delhi, Chandigarh, Patiala and Nabha. The duration of the tour is twelve days and the journey will be undertaken both by road and train. The tour would give students a wider exposure to other States in India and educate them about the rich historical, religious, cultural and natural heritage of our country as well as expose them to its scientific and technological progress. The tour will instill in them a spirit of patriotism and further integrate them into the national mainstream of development.
Meanwhile, an educational-cum-motivational tour comprising of 22 students and three teachers hailing from border areas of Akhnoor tehsil to Mumbai and Pune (Maharashtra) was flagged in by the Officiating Commander ‘Guardians of LC Brigade” at Akhnoor, today.
The aim of the tour was to give an exposure to young children about development taking place in rest of the country and to introduce them to the diverse culture, people and avenues of opportunities.
During the tour, they got an opportunity to visit Naval Dockyard, Nehru Planetorium, Jehangir Art Gallery, Mani Bhavan, Mazgaon Dockyard, Hotel Taj, Raj Bhavan, Bandra Worli Sea link, Hanging Garden, Gateway of India, Siddhi Vinayak temple, Marine drive, Essel world, Dadasaheb Phalke Chitrangagari, NDA, FTII, Sinhagarh fort, rajiv Gandhi Snake Park, Shreemant Dagdu Seth Sarvjanik Ganpati, Tata manufacturing site, Agha Khan Palace, College of Military Engineering and Subrato Roy Cricket Stadium.
