JAMMU, Apr 11: Army today said they have intensified security arrangements around all Army installations including the Army schools but added that there had been no successful infiltration attempt in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch since 2010.
Speaking to reporters on sidelines of Rajouri Day function in Rajouri, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 25 Infantry Division Major General Saranjeet Singh told the reports that there had been no successful infiltration attempt on the Line of Control (LoC) in the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch since 2010.
“Our troops are on high alert along the LoC. Though the militants have made some infiltration attempts, the Army has foiled them and didn’t allow the militants to succeed,” he said.
The GOC was responding to a question on infiltration attempts by the militants.
Responding to another question on security of Army schools and other installation, Maj Gen Singh said the Army has made fool-proof arrangements for all the Army installations including the Army schools.
“The security arrangements are very strict at all the Army installations. We had intensified security further after recent attacks on police station and Army camp in Kathua and Samba districts.
Replying to another question on a blast that took the life of three civilian labourers in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district recently, the GOC said the sanitizing operation in the area was on.
“We are trying to ascertain nature of the blast and how it took place close to the civilian area,” he said, adding the Army has taken steps to prevent such incidents in future.
