KATRA, Apr 11: 17th Annual Chhourta Kesari Dangal was organized by Chhourta Dangal Committee in Association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, under the overall supervision of Shiv Kumar Sharma its president and Sham Lal Sharma, president of Chhourta Dangal Committee in Block Dansal, Jammu.
1st malli main bout was fought between wrestlers Farooq Khan of Sarore, Jammu and Nisar of Doda.
This bout was won by wrestler Farooq that lasted for 26 minutes.
Cash prize of Rs 5000 was awarded to Farooq while runner up Nisar got Rs 3000.
In all, 52 bouts were played in the one day long Dangal.
The second bout was played between Lallu of Bajrangi Akhara and Ajay Kumar Sharma of Landen Power House Udhampur.
This bout ended in a draw that lasted for 29 minutes. Third bout was won by Babba of Kot Bhalwal who defeated Amir Khan of Bajrangi Akhara of Nargada in only 2 minutes. Fourth bout was won by Kallu of Bishnah who defeated Akram of Jammu and 5th bout was won by Bobri of Sarore who defeated Dillar Khan of J&K Police.
Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association India and president Senior Citizen Welfare Forum Katra was the chief guest on the occasion who gave away cash prize money to the winner and runners-up wrestlers.
Hilal Azhar SHO Jhajjar Kotli and Rashid Mohd Naib Tehsildar were the guests of honour. Tilak Raj ASI, Angrej Singh, Mohd. Sadiq, Madan Mohan Dubey, Balwan Singh (All Sarpanches) were also present on the occasion.
