Army joins hand with civil admn to tackle ‘unemployment’

REASI, Mar 11: With over 3500 youth gets registered under various self entrepreneurship development schemes, district administration Reasi in coordination with Counter Insurgency Force (CIF) Uniform held biggest ever job fair at sports stadium here today.
General Officer- in-Command (GOC), Counter Insurgency Force (CIF) Uniform, Major General B V Rao, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Reasi-Sushma Chauhan inaugurated the fair.
Rao in his address underscored the need for taking all required measures for enlarging awareness among youth about various State and Central Government self-employment schemes so that they could gain maximum benefit from all such programmes. He observed people at large need to be involved in a big way to secure the desired objectives in regard to spreading awareness about these schemes in all parts of the State.
He further said that employment fairs provide a valuable opportunity for the administration and the people to interact about the various self-employment schemes. He called upon the people, particularly youth to take best advantage of the schemes launched by the Government for generating employment avenues. He referred to the high potential for growth of horticulture, agriculture and tourism in the area.
DC Reasi, in her address said that 45 stalls have been set up by various departments, organizations and placement agencies. He said that career counseling session is also being organized in the employment fair where the aspirants of various competitive examinations will be guided by officers from civil administration, police and Army officers.
She said that such programmes besides encouraging the youth for setting up their income generating units help in developing cordial relationship between the department and the local people. He said effective implementation of various self employment programmes under Central and State sectors was the key to address the challenge of unemployment and to enable youth to earn dignified livelihood.
Col, 15 Sect RR Brig H S Walia, Senior Superintendent of Police-Sujit Kumar, Police, Army, CRPF, IRP, Divisional and District Officers, prominent persons of the area and youth were present on this occasion.
