JAMMU, Mar 11: With three more persons today testing positive for H1N1 virus, the total number of swine flu cases in Jammu region has climbed to 64.
According to Director Health Jammu, BS Pathania, 15 reports were received today by the Health Department, Jammu out of which three were found to be positive for H1N1 virus while the other 12 were negative.
“With this the total number of swine flu cases in Jammu region has reached to 64”, he said, adding till date the department has received 241 reports from New Delhi out of which 64 were positive for H1N1 while 177 were negative.
He said that 15 more swab samples of suspected patients were sent today for testing to New Delhi.
Meanwhile, Medical Superintendent, Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, Dr Ravinder Ratan Pal informed that a total of 29 patients were screened today in Flu OPD of the hospital and samples of 15 of them were taken for testing.
“As of now, 10 patients (including affected and suspected) are admitted in Isolation Ward of the hospital and one of them who was on ventilator for last many days was today found to be negative for H1N1”, he added.
