JAMMU, June 7: Nowabad police arrested an army jawan for raping a girl on the pretext of marriage.
As per police sources, a girl lodged a complaint with police station Nowabad few days back stating that an army jawan namely Parshotam Kumar, son of Khajur Singh, a resident of Tiryath District Rajouri had developed physical relation on the pretext that he will marry her, but refused later.
Acting over the complaint, a case under Section 376 RPC was registered at Nowabad police station and hunt was launched to arrest the accused.
On specific information, a team from Nowabad police station apprehended the accused.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
