Army felicitates Corona warriors, organizes series of events

JAMMU, May 3: The Indian Army, which has always been on the frontline in ensuring the safety and security of India, today organized multiple events for expressing solidarity and gratitude to the health workers, doctors, civil officials, conservancy staff and the Police, who have been rendering d exceptional contribution during the fight against pandemic COVID-19.
In Jammu Region, Indian Army in Rajouri, Akhnoor, Jammu, Samba, Kathua and Pathankot felicitated all agencies involved in the fight against COVID-19 by organizing Military Pipe Band Displays as a token of appreciation and goodwill gesture at many places.
In Jammu, Tiger Division organised events at Govt Medical College Jammu, J&K Police Lines Gandhi Nagar, Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Police Station, Bari Brahmana and Employees State Insurance Corporation Hospital, Bari Brahmana. Banners with encouraging slogans were displayed and senior Army officials greeted and interacted with counterparts from other agencies. Miran Sahib Brigade also presented hand sanitizers manufactured by Brigade EME workshop and greeting cards from children to the corona warriors in Govt Medical College Jammu.
In Rajouri, Corona Warriors were honoured by Ace of Spades Division at District Police Lines, Civil Hospital, Government College and Army Hospital.
Similar events were organized in Police Stations and Hospitals by Crossed Swords Division in Akhnoor, Rising Star Gunners in Kathua, Gurj Division and Sub Area in Pathankot. Armed Forces reaffirmed the resolve to fight the pandemic in a synergized manner with civil authorities in order to protect the Awaam.
In Samba, the thanks-giving event by the Indian Army’s 92 Brigade and 4/1 GR Bari Brahmana was organized in front of Police Station Bari Brahmana to honour each and every police official of Samba Police working tirelessly round the clock, contributing in the containment of deadly virus.
In Pathankot, the event was organised by the Gurj Division, which felicitated the Corona warriors with ‘Cert of Appreciation’ and gift hamper with refreshments. The outstanding performance of Army Pipe band charged up the emotional environment and mesmerized all those present.
The occasion was graced by Brig G S Gill, Stn Cdr, Mamun Military Station, civil dignitaries and Military Medical staff. The solidarity displayed by the action earned the appreciation of all.
