REASI, June 17: To empower women of Kalakote and surrounding areas, Rashtriya Rifles at Kalakote under the aegis of Reasi based Rashtriya Rifles Headquarters is conducting a driving course for these women.
The 21-day long course being organized under ‘Sadbh-avana’ project, began today at Kalakote with participation of 20 women. During the training, the participants will be trained on theoretical as well as practical aspects of driving.
Speaking during the opening function, the army authorities said that this step is a part of the overall efforts by the organization towards empowerment of women which will be enable them to become self-dependent in future thereby reducing their dependency on male members of their families for day to day needs.
