JAMMU, May 15: As part of its civic action initiatives, the Indian Army’s Miran Sahib Brigade of Tiger Division in association with the civil administration organized a medical, veterinary and awareness camp for the people dwelling in the border areas at Jora Farms and Chakroi in the RS Pura Sector.
A team of doctors, including veterinarians, from Army and the local health administration, comprising of experts of varied specialties catered for the need of women, children and cattle, where in 116 women, 120 children, 86 men and 76 cattle were provided with free medical aid and medicines.
The occasion also provided an opportunity to spread awareness amongst the local populace about the importance and knowledge of ongoing nationwide campaigns viz “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Care for Girl Child, Adult Literacy and Jan-Dhan Yojna.
The Army in close cooperation with SBI facilitated opening of personal saving bank accounts. The local youth were motivated to join the noble profession of Army by providing in-depth knowledge of recruitment requirements.
The local Army veterans were also made aware of Aadhar Card linked “Jeevan Pramaan Yojna”’ to ameliorate their need for tendering a life certificate.
