JAMMU, Aug 30: The elections of Market Association Gujjar Nagar Ward no 6/ Bawa Wali Gali were held today at Girls Secondary School Gujjar Nagar, here.
Arif Noor alias Luckey was elected president of the Association. He secured 188 votes against 97 secured by his rival Irfan Ahmed.
The elections were conducted under the chairmanship of Mohalla president Gujjar Nagar, Mohammad Hussain Malik.
Noor after being declared as winner expressed his gratitude to all those who voted for him and assured that he will work for the welfare of the traders in the area.
Prominent among others who were present during the election included Shobat Koffar, Mohammad Sadiq Malik, Parvez Ahmed, Ajay Raina and Rafiq Malik.
