MENDHAR, Jan 9: The villagers from Suroti and its adjoining areas, have strongly demanded repair of Ari-Suroti road in Mendhar Sub Division of Poonch district.
The villagers of the area are annoyed over the attitude of neglect of the District and Sub Divisional Administration. They alleged that due to dilapidated condition of the road, they are facing lot of hardships.
A village Panch said that the condition of the road leading to Suroti village from Ari in Mendhar has remained dilapidated for the last several years, due to which the villagers are facing problems on daily basis. The students and patients are the worst affected.
Local residents- Imran Rasool and Mohammad Khurshid disclosed that this road comes under the PW(R&B) department. They said the people have informed the concerned department several times but till date the repair work has not been launched.
They further said that more than one kilometer of the road is broken where water gets accumulated during the rains and many accidents have also taken place on it, yet the road is not being repaired at all. The total neglect on the part of R&B agency is surprising.
Local peoples have urged the District Administration Poonch to sort out their problem and issue instructions to the concerned department to repair this road without any further delay.
