JAMMU, Sept 14: R S Pura unit of the Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organizations today organized an `Arakshan Bachaoo Sammelan’, which was attended by the cadre of the Confederation and various social, political and religious people from all parts of the RS Pura constituency.
R K Kalsotra, State president of the Confederation was the chief guest on the occasion while Darshan Banmotra, State coordinator, Confederation I/C RS Pura organized the Sammelan.
Speakers on the occasion criticized the coalition partners of the State Government for their failure to defend their own rules and laws regarding the Reservation.
In the recent Assembly session held in Srinagar, all the Legislatures, especially those elected on Reserved seats, did not speak even a single word against the Government’s Reservation policy, they alleged and threatened to take to streets over the issue.
R K Kalsotra stressed upon unity and called for collective efforts to achieve the target. He said that the deprived sections of the society, particularly SC/ST/OBCs, must be allowed to get their rights.
He demanded reservation in appointment of ReTs, ReZ, Adhoc, Temporary, Contractual, SPOs, Anganwari Workers etc. He also criticized the Government for introducing marks criteria for scholarship to poor reserved categories students and its failure to implement Mandal Commission report.
Others who spoke in the Sammelan, included; Hardutt, Sudesh Kumar Bangotra, Bodh Raj Rao, Ramesh Chand Sarmal and Sat Pal Tredia.
