Police cop among three killed, couple injured in road accidents

JAMMU, Sept 14: Three persons including a police constable were killed, while a couple received injuries in road accidents at different locations of the winter capital.
As per police sources, a police constable posted as guard in Treasury at Akhnoor namely Kuldeep Singh (42), son of Raghubir Singh, a resident of Gigrayal, Khour was boarding the bus, when he slipped and received serious head injuries.
He was rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Akhnoor and was later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
The body has been handed over to legal heirs for last rites after completing legal formalities.
In another incident, a youth was killed, when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a stranded army truck in Purmandal area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gangyal police station.
The body of the deceased identified as Shekhar, son of Shanker Dass of Purmandal was handed over to family members for last rites after conducting autopsy at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
Meanwhile, a man aged around 60 years was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near Kunjwani area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gangyal Police Station.
The body of the deceased has been shifted to mortuary of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for identification.
A couple received injuries, when the Alto car they were traveling in collided with a bus near Asia Crossing area, falling under the jurisdiction of Nehru Market Police Post.
The injured identified as Razak (30), son of Hussain Mohammad and his wife Nasreen (28), a resident of Raya Morh were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where their condition was stated to be stable, when reports last came in.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at concerned police stations and investigation started.
