SRINAGAR, May 25: All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has appealed to the Sikh community to remain vigilant over what it said some elements are trying to provoke the Sikhs for disturbing the communal harmony in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina has condemned the incident of Poonch where authorities were forced to impose curfew following escalation of communal tension.
The APSCC has demanded that police should not shield the ‘culprits’ and swift action needs to be taken against them.
Harcharan Singh Khalsa, Pradhan of Poonch has appealed to all sections of religions to maintain age old relations and brotherhood at all costs in the border district of the State.
He said everyone in the district is worried on this incident involving a Sikh girl and registered protest with Government.
